The Solaro Energy Attic Fan Estimator is the perfect tool to help you adequately ventilate your attic. Solaro Energy, an American manufacturing company, is an industry leader in attic ventilation. We design and build all of our products on US soil and we stand behind their quality!
Using the app is simple. Provided with the app are instructions, as well as an instructional video to guide you through its use.
Navigating through the different sections of the app is done by swiping. Swiping to the left or right will change the page you are on. In some cases you will also be able to swipe up or down to change the page. You can always return to the main page by tapping your screen three times.
To use the fan estimator simply swipe to the left. This will bring you to the inputs screen. Here you will need to enter the attic information, specifically information that is used to calculate the volume of the attic. If you know the area of your attic, you can enter the area in the appropriate text box. The estimator will then assume you have a square home, and will calculate the length and width of your attic for you. Alternatively, if you know the length or width of your attic you can enter this information instead. The estimator will then automatically calculate the area. The estimator is also capable of deriving the length, or width as long as one is provided along with an area.
In order to calculate the volume of your attic we also need to know how high it is. If you know an estimate for your attic height you can enter it in the height section. However, for more accurate calculations enter a roof pitch. The estimator will then calculate your attic height based off of the Width.
Finally you will need to select one of our American Made Attic Fans. This will tell the estimator what CFM to use in calculations. You can view our different products by swiping down at anytime.
Once you have entered all of the required information you can again swipe left. This will bring you to the results page. here you will see your calculated attic Volume, as well as the minimum and recommended amount of fans you would need to adequately ventilate your attic. The information under the minimum section is calculated based off of the NFA minimum, whereas the recommended section is calculated directly from your attics information. Sometimes the calculations will be the same, and sometimes they will be different. We, of course, suggest you go with the recommended amount.
